The infamous "Thunderdust" parking situation remains a constant issue for students attending classes on Richland's campus. The reconstruction of parking lots A and B has temporarily closed a direct route to Thunderduck Hall.

Thunderduck Hall provides essential services such as financial aid, tuition payments and registration, along with several others. Therefore, individuals who make a quick visit to take advantage of these services during the construction will need to go to parking lots C & D.

Richland is offering a shuttle service for assistance and quick access to Thunderduck Hall.

"The Mobility Assistance Shuttle is available and welcome to students and faculty. The shuttle is not a bus but a covered cart that holds six passengers and will provide shelter for the upcoming cold weather," said Eddie Hueston, director of facilities.

The service will provide convenient access following the sidewalks between the front of Sabine and Thunderduck Halls. Signs are located at both of the designated stops for the two buildings.

The service is continuous Monday through Thursday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Passengers are able to use the service on Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

"Two benches between Sabine and Thunderduck were recently installed for individuals to rest and also a pedestrian cross walk at the back entrance of Sabine," said Hueston.

Hueston also said that the reconstruction for the parking lots is staying on schedule. Parking lots A & B are expected to open the last week of November.
