There are only 17 more days left this year. People have probably already planned or started to establish their New Year's
Resolutions for 2012.
Many choose to lose weight or get in shape through a certain diet or exercise regimen.
Zumba is a excellent rhythmic option for anyone to hoping to start and sustain a
resolution.
People who dread going to the gym and do not have the motivation to do so may want to try a zumba class.
Zumba is a dance-fitness class that
incorporates Latin choreography with
popular international music.
Instructors are licensed to teach the class and guide the students through each song and the associated dance steps.
The class offers students, regardless of dance experience, the ability to easily learn the steps that go with the music. The music is upbeat and likely to captivate plenty of
dancing feet.
"Dancing is the best form of cardiac
exercise," said Bill Neal, a physical
education instructor for Richland's Learning
Enrichment Program.
Zumba offers six different classes,
including toning, gold, aqua, and zumba in the circuit.
Each class is designed for all ages and with difficulties to fit anyone's workout routine.
Richland is offering zumba credit
classes for the spring semester on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 to 1:50 p.m.
Neal said that they are looking for an
instructor for a night class, but it is difficult to find an individual who has a master's degree in physical education and is licensed to teach zumba.
Neal said zumba is not only for individuals who enjoy dancing and music, but for anyone who enjoys a lively workout.
